MUSCAT: The wilayats of North Al Batinah Governorate have started the Omani wheat harvest season, which is distinguished by its quality. The area for planting this year’s crop is expected to be 50 feddans.
The Directorate General of Agricultural and Fisheries Wealth in North Al Batinah Governorate has been making unremitting efforts to encourage farmers in the governorate’s wilayats to plant various agricultural crops, including Omani wheat.
They have been provided with improved seeds, guidance and periodic follow-up on wheat harvest service, in addition to introducing ways to prevent diseases and pests.

The Directorate of North Al Batinah Governorate has clarified that the quantity of production last season ranged between 70 to 75 tons.
However, a decrease in production is expected in 2022 due to the impact of Hurricane Shaheen in some states of the governorate.
