Omanisation study results reviewed by OCCI

An overview of the study was presented with its results, impact on economic as well as business environment in Oman.

MUSCAT: The Committee for Economic Affairs, Research and Studies at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) held its first meeting in 2022 headed by Dr. Ahmed bin Abdul Karim Al Houti, Chairman of the Committee.

The meeting was also attended by a number of members of the committee. During the meeting, the results of the Omanisation study in the Sultanate of Oman reviewed from an international point of view.

Dr. Abdulsalam Faraj Yahya, an economist at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented an overview of the study and its most important results and impact on economic activity and the business environment in the Sultanate.

It also reviewed achieving the principle of competitiveness, according to what is internationally enforced, to enhance the attractiveness of the investment environment in the Sultanate.

The attendees were also briefed on a study on the productivity of work in the private sector and the impact of fees on economic activity and enhancing the competitiveness of the Sultanate, to preserve the liquidity of private sector institutions, and a number of proposals that work on developing small and medium enterprises, which constitute the largest proportion of private sector enterprises.
