MUSCAT: The General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning in the Governorate of South Al Batinah has implemented a number of strategic development projects, such as projects for new future cities, real estate development, food security and various economic projects.
Engineer Khalfan bin Masoud Al-Naabi, Director General of Housing and Urban Planning in the Governorate of South Al Batinah said, “The directorate has approved four sites for new real estate development projects, two sites in the Wilayat of Rustaq in the Misfah and Al Hazm areas, one in the Wilayat of Musanna and another site in the Halban area in the Wilayat of Nakhl.”
The directorate also identified two other sites as proposed future cities with modern designs that preserve the Omani identity.

Engineer Khalfan Al-Naabi added: The Directorate continues to respond to various planning requests and real estate actions related to existing real estate development projects, such as the Integrated National Complex project, the Naseem neighbourhood project and the Sandan project, where the Directorate carries out continuous planning work by adopting and issuing cadastral drawings and title deeds for all separated units and making the required modifications and updates According to the requirements of owners and investors.
Eng. Khalfan Al-Naabi added, “In the field of development investment projects in the Governorate of South Al Batinah, the directorate is working on studying the construction maps of some of these sites and studying the service paths surrounding them to obtain approvals from other relevant authorities, in order to achieve the priorities of the Oman 2040 vision and the aspirations of the urban strategy by making the economy a competitive environment Encouraging economic growth and diversification.”
In the field of food security, the Director General of Housing and Urban Planning in the Governorate of South Al Batinah indicated that work is underway to study and approve a number of projects and conclude usufruct contracts to ensure that the project sites are compatible with planning policies, the scope of the structural plan, and the foundations and requirements in force in order to achieve food security and preserve suitable lands. For agriculture and eco-pastoral areas.
Engineer Khalfan Al-Naabi added, “A number of projects have been approved, including the mango tree planting project, the vegetable and fruit packaging project, the slaughterhouse and livestock market, the central market for dates, and agricultural and animal projects such as farms and barns sites distributed over all the states of the South Al Batinah Governorate, and there are projects under study to provide agricultural land Investment projects to enhance food security; As this type of project is linked to the priorities of the Oman 2040 vision and the urban strategy.”
As for the post-climatic developments (Shaheen), Eng. Khalfan Al-Naebi has confirmed that all planning works and practices and survey work related to the requests received to the Directorate and located within the ranges of valleys and waterways tracks are currently being studied and followed up in accordance with the directives issued in this regard.
