Royal Opera House Muscat inaugurates its postal stamp

The postal stamp was inaugurated to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Oman's premier venue for musical arts and culture.

MUSCAT: The Royal Opera House Muscat inaugurated its postal stamp in cooperation with Post Oman in the House of Musical Arts on March 24.

The postal stamp was inaugurated on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Royal Opera House Muscat in order to commemorate of the achievements, concerts, international musical performances and amazing productions it has hosted since its opening in 2011.

The Royal Opera House Muscat has the built programs and public participation in the cultural enrichment which have been dynamic and exciting. 

For more than a decade, the crowds witnessed the attendance of many programs and world premieres of the most prominent opera performances, some of which were joint productions commissioned by the Royal Opera House, as well as the organisation of multiple exhibitions.

The Opera House has also expanded to include the House of Musical Arts, which is linked via the world’s first interactive music bridge. The new building opened in 2019, with a capacity of 548 seats to complement the 1,057-seat Royal Opera House in Muscat.

The Musical Arts Gallery and Musical Library complements the House of Musical Arts, further defining the achievements of the past ten years. One of the core principles of the Royal Opera House Muscat is to engage new audiences through a program of educational activities, open days, lectures and free informal concerts, and now the house culminates these activities with the launch of postage stamp.

The Royal Opera House has assured its audience that all its shows, parties and visits are held in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures in lieu of the pandemic.
