MUSCAT: Oman’s Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technology has clarified that road toll systems will not be implemented on existing routes and the focus is only on trucks.
Addressing a query in Majlis Al Shura on Sunday, His Excellency Said Al Maawali said if alternative routes are not found for trucks, fees will be charged on them “by mutual consent and as part of the agreement,” the Minister noted.
“Alternative roads will not cause any financial burdens for citizens as the focus will be only on trucks,” he clarified.
