MUSCAT: The White Beach at Fins in the Wilayat of Quriyat is soon gaining popularity for its serenity and for its awe-inspiring marine sites. The beach is frequented by tourists and camping enthusiasts from various parts of the country and the world.
Muhammad bin Ali Al-Ghadani, a resident of the region, said, “The beach, in its terrain and components, resembles a port called Mukalla Wabar. It was a safe haven for fishing boats, passenger ships and sailing goods passing through the Sea of Oman from Muscat to South Al Sharqiah. Sometimes there are storms and raging seas, so they stay there until the storms and waves of the sea subside, then leave for their destination.
He added, “The White Beach is famous for the presence of coral reefs and turtles. They live in its waters and come out at night to lay their eggs on the sand and then return to the sea. Taking advantage of the calmness away from the hustle and bustle, migratory seabirds gather are easily spotted here.
