MUSCAT: The Saif al-Ittihad kicked off on Sunday, March 13, at Al-Hajana Sultanah Square in Al-Fulaij in Wilayat Barka with the participation of large camel owners from different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
The Saif al-Ittihad race is a symbolic race expected by navigators, camel breeders, and those interested. The race includes more than 57 multi-categories of pilgrimages, encounters, folds, squints, and farewells, for which valuable prizes are allocated between cars and cash prizes.
The Sword of the Union races 2022 is organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation and under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. The closing ceremony will be held on the evening of Wednesday, March 16, on the same track, to include a set of review paragraphs on camels and accompanying artistic paintings.

His Highness Sayyid Theyazin Bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, will patronise the conclusion of the Omani Camel Racing Federation’s annual race for 2022, under its modern name Saif al-Ittihad, on Wednesday in Al-Haggana Sultaniya Square in Al-Fulaij in the Wilayat of Barka.
Sheikh Saeed bin Saud Al Ghufaili, President of the Omani Camel Racing Association, said, “The sword of the Federation 2022 is honoured with the direct support and interest of His Highness the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, who pays special attention to this sport. The sport receives appropriate care in the Sultanate of Oman as one of the most important civilisational and cultural legacies.”
