MUSCAT: Oman’s first team, consisting of international shooters Amjad Al Zaabi and Aisha Al-Magina, achieved second place in the World Championships of Target Sprints. The tournament is currently being held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Our reserve team, consisting of international bowler Hammoud Al-Hatmi and international bowler Maha Al-Marzouki, managed to achieve the bronze medal in the same competition.
On this occasion, Naval Staff Lieutenant-General Abdullah bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces, President of the Oman Shooting Association, congratulated the shooters and the mission in a phone conversation, wishing them successful international participation and further honourable results to come.
On the other hand, the international shooter and Duha Al Balushi ranked 16th globally and first at the Arab level in air pistol shooting, with a score of 567 out of 600.
A total of 65 countries participate in the World Championships with general and youth teams, and the activities of this tournament will continue until the eighth of this March, and our players will compete in the pistol, air rifle and bullet categories.
On the other hand, and on the authority of the International Shooting Federation, the task of judging the final competition in shooting 10 meters air pistol was assigned to the Omani international referee, Muhammad Al-Shaidi, who managed this competition with all professionalism and competence.
