MUSCAT: Oman, inaugurated the environmental sanitation campaign in the Wilayat of Mirbat in the Dhofar Governorate on Wednesday. It is implemented by the office of the Wali of Mirbat and will last for two weeks.
The campaign aims to combat disease vectors, fill ponds and water swamps, remove distortions and transport waste. In addition to holding lectures, the campaign would also be distributing awareness brochures on the importance of the campaign and the role of society in achieving its goals.
The environmental sanitation campaign would target all parts of the Wilayat of Mirbat, including the old neighbourhoods of Mirbat, the port area, the industrial area, the beaches, valleys, and plains, in addition to the Niyabat of Tawi Ateer and Hino district.
The inauguration of the campaign was sponsored by His Excellency Eng. Abdulqader bin Ahmed Al-Haddad, Wali of Mirbat, in the presence of the deputies of the Wali and officials of government agencies and the private sector in the state.
