Oman’s State Council to hold 4th regular session

The agenda of the session includes reviewing a number of reports submitted by the honoured members of the Council.

MUSCAT: The State Council will hold its fourth regular session on Wednesday for the third annual session of the seventh period, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Malik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council.

During the session, the Council will discuss the study submitted by the Social Committee on ‘Promoting Water, Mountain and Desert Sports’, in addition to discussing the proposals submitted by the Technology and Innovation Committee to study the Electronic Defense Center system issued by Royal Decree No. (64/2020), and study the regulatory and legislative frameworks for artificial intelligence technology.

The council will also discuss the study submitted by the Economic Committee on strengthening the legislative and regulatory frameworks for real estate finance, financial leasing and consumer finance activities, and the committee’s proposal on the study the agricultural sector: economic returns and competitiveness, in addition to approving the minutes of the third regular session of the third annual session of the period. The agenda of the session includes reviewing a number of reports submitted by the honoured members of the council, and the messages received by the council from some parties, in addition to reviewing the report of the General Secretariat on the activities of the council for the period between the previous session and this session.
