MUSCAT: Oman’s Supreme Committee has issued its biggest relaxation of Covid-19 rules to date, with some major changes to face masks, and travel restrictions effective from today, Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
After more than two years, the wearing of face masks in open spaces have been made optional in the country, while it will continue to remain mandatory in indoor places such as closed halls. The committee also scrapped the mandatory PCR test requirements for fully vaccinated inbound travellers. The committee also allowed hotels at 100% capacity.
Additionally, the committee also decided to resume the direct education system by 100% in all academic levels, while adhering to all precautionary health measures, starting from Sunday, March 6, 2022. Starting from March 6, all schools across Oman will resume physical classes at full capacity, the Supreme Committee announced on Monday.
