MUSCAT: Oman will launch the first phase of the unified national portal project for e-government services by end of this year, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has said.
His Excellency Saeed Al Mawaali said through the portal, 88 electronic services will provided to citizens and the business sector. “Projects such as the launch of the first phase of the unified national portal project for e-government services, the launch of 88 electronic services provided to citizens and the business sector, and the simplification of procedures and preparation of engineering operations for 70 per cent of basic government services are included in the transformation program for this year,” the Minister informed.
The minister also highlighted the need for an investment incentive package, cybersecurity services, artificial intelligence applications and services, qualifying national cadres and refining their skills in modern technology disciplines.
