MUSCAT: Oman has been ranked third in renewable energy and 15th in emerging economies in Middle East and North Africa and 38th globally, according to the 2021 Climate Scope assessment report published by Bloomberg.
The evaluation included 136 countries worldwide and focused on investment conditions in diversifying energy sources, “as it assesses the ability of countries to attract capital for low-carbon technologies while building a greener economy,” Oman News Agency said.
“The Sultanate of Oman’s attainment of this position comes as a result of its adoption of an ambitious strategy to diversify its energy sources by expanding renewable energy projects in a way that benefits the environment and reduces carbon emissions,” ONA added.
