MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Council of Oman, participated in the 32nd Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union held on Thursday, February 17 in Cairo.
The conferenced titled ‘Arab Solidarity’ saw the participation of heads of Arab councils and parliaments, and the presence of Arab regional and international organisations as observers in the Union.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by His Excellency Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura, in the conference, which discusses the report of the president and the activities of the Executive Committee in the last three conferences, and the report of the Secretary-General on the conditions of the union, its activities and the implementation of its decisions.

The two-day conference will also discuss the activities of the Union’s General Secretariat, and the reports of the sessions of the Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union for approval.
Later, speeches by speakers of parliaments, councils and heads of delegations, meetings of the permanent committees of the Union, and discussion of the draft work program and draft budget of the Union for the year 2022 will be held during the conference.
