UAE-Oman Economic Forum kickstarts in Dubai

Oman accounts for 20% of UAE's total trade with the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).

MUSCAT: The second UAE-Oman Economic Forum has begun in Dubai, on the sidelines of the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai with the aim of building a growing partnership in the economic sectors of interest to the two countries. 

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, points out in his speech that the Sultanate of Oman represents the country’s second largest trading partner in the Gulf. It accounts for 20 percent of the UAE’s total trade with the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, stresses in his speech that the forum is an important and distinctive addition to the history of economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and its sister, the United Arab Emirates, and an opportunity to explore broader areas of partnership and cooperation between the two sides.
