Many of the past students of SQU are now serving in top positions in government and private organizations across Oman. It is rewarding to meet them occasionally during their visit to the alma mater. They still maintain the same feelings for me.

Kutty has been living on SQU campus in the support staff quarters for more than a decade. He recalls when SQU started its operations, there were very few buildings and trees on the campus. “Most of the buildings were around the central area only. The University Hospital, the University Mosque and the colleges of Arts and Economics were built in a phased manner in the later years. I have witnessed the construction process and the vast landscaping process of these buildings”. He also remembers there were fewer students and employees in the initial period, when the roads were a good deal quieter.

Over the years, Kutty could establish long-term association with many officers and students at SQU. “The good thing about working at such a prestigious institution is that you can meet many scholarly and refined persons and highly talented students. Many of the past students of SQU are now serving in top positions in government and private organizations across Oman. It is rewarding to meet them occasionally during their visit to the alma mater. They still maintain the same feelings for me. They behave in a very friendly manner, maintaining the same attachment as in the past,” Kutty said.
The hospitality of the friendly people of Oman is the reason that prompted Kutty to stay in this beautiful country Oman for more than 3 decades. As an assistant at the Student Consumer Establishment, Kutty works as cashier, at times as person responsible for display of items and shop in charge. He greets all the customers, mostly students, with a smiling face and cracks innocent jokes during his work. This attitude cements his sincere association with the SQU community. As an assistant at the Student Market, Kutty mostly deal with the younger generation of the country. This is the reason why Kutty continues to be an evergreen and vibrant person at the age of 65.
