MUSCAT: The Oman Racing Team led by Ahmad Al Harthy finished fifth in the second round of the Asian Le Mans Series, which lasted for four consecutive hours at the Dubai Autodrome.

The team reflected the existing capabilities, skill and speed of the three drivers, Ahmad Al Harthy, Ireland’s Charlie Eastwood and Britain’s Sam De Haan, as the trio presented an exciting and challenging race from the first moments to the end of the four hours.

It was possible to record a better result than the one recorded at the end of the race, after the team reached second place, with the rider Ahmad Al Harthy entering the circuit in the second hour of the race, after the rider Sam De Haan finished the first session of the race in fourth place, which lasted for an hour.

Driver Ahmad Al Harthy said, “Everyone gave everything they could offer in such races. The competition is fierce among everyone as we are at close levels and there are only differences in the speed of some cars on the tracks, as the performance of the team was very impressive and we never made a mistake in the circuit or in the pits and we tried a lot to hold the positions we couldn’t because of the different speeds between the cars, but I can say that along with my fellow drivers Charlie Wissam we had one of our best races in recent seasons.”

The Asian Le Mans Series will be moving onto rounds three and four of the 2022 season which will be held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on Saturday, February 19 and Sunday, February 20.
