MUSCAT: Oman, represented by the Ministry of Health, is participating in the 150th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Switzerland.
The session, conducted in a hybrid format, commenced on Monday and will continue until January, 29. HE Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health represented the Sultanate, along with the participation of ministry’s undersecretaries and senior officials.
The agenda was adopted followed by the Director-General report. The outcome of the special session of the World Health Assembly to consider developing a WHO convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic preparedness and response was reviewed in addition to the report of the regional committees to the Executive Board.

The session addresses the political declaration of the third high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.
During the six days of the meeting, discussions will be held on administrative, financial and regulatory works including the global health sector strategies on HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections, and the global strategy for tuberculosis research and innovation.
