Oman receives award for best Arab government project

The project ‘Innovation System for Students of Higher Education Institutions’ is focused on developing education in the Sultanate of Oman.

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman received the Arab Government Excellence Award for the best Arab government project.

The Arab Administrative Development Organisation said in a statement, “Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani, Director-General of the organisation affiliated with the League of Arab States, handed Counsellor Badr bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman to the League of Arab States, the Arab Government Excellence Award, for the best Arab government project.”

The project ‘Innovation System for Students of Higher Education Institutions’ is focused on developing education in the Sultanate of Oman. Oman received the award in the first cycle of the Arab Government Excellence Award, among 5,000 government participations from various Arab countries.

Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani stressed that the Arab Government Excellence Award is the first of its kind in the Arab world, and the largest in the field of administrative development and improvement and government institutional excellence, which aims to stimulate leadership thought, spread a culture of quality and performance excellence, and encourage government institutions to improve and develop their services and products. And disseminate its achievements, to set an example in the Arab world, as well as celebrate successful administrative and governmental experiences in the Arab world.

The Arab Administrative Development Organisation, along with the UAE government, launched the ‘Arab Government Excellence Award’ on May 23, 2019, to be the largest Arab in the field of development, improvement and administrative excellence in the Arab region. The award aims to create a new Arab movement in the field of management that applies international best practices in the field of government performance excellence, sheds light on successful administrative experiences in the Arab region, honours Arab government competencies, and creates positive leadership thought in government sectors, to adopt institutional excellence and renew existing processes and systems. Using smart technologies, to implement future government visions and strategies.
