MUSCAT : With the blessings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said launched the ‘Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design” targeting Omani youth specialized in the fields of architecture and design, including scholars and job seekers.
His Highness stressed that the idea of the award lies in launching an annual local competition with a global vision, targeting Omani youth specialized in the fields of architecture and design, to present modern architectural and urban designs with artistic visions that combine authenticity and contemporary to develop a specific geographical area in the Sultanate of Oman.
The best works will be selected for the award and the winning designs will be aimed at investments through relevant government agencies.

His Highness clarified that the award’s ultimate goal is to listen to the voice of young people in a different way, in addition to a general goal bearing the slogan “Towards an innovative and contemporary Omani architectural style.”

Participation can be done individually or as a team whose members do not exceed three people. “They can collectively submit their proposals bearing their names, while adhering to the conditions of the competition, including that the participant should not be over 35 years old,” His Highness Bilarab said.
These conditions can be found on the award’s website www.bha.om or through its social media pages. 10 contestants will qualify for the final stage to submit presentations to the jury about their project ideas, proposals, and technical visions within a specified period of time, while the first three will win the prizes.
The first winner will receive a prize money of OMR 20,000, the second winner will get OMR 15,000 , and the third winner will get OMR 10,000. The other seven finalists will have in-kind prizes.
