MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Thursday issued a royal decree appointing Dr. Ali bin Qassim bin Jawad Al Lawati as President of the Royal Academy of Administration, with the same financial rank.
Dr. Ali bin Qassim bin Jawad Al Lawati is considered one of the pioneers of development and modernisation work in the Arab region over the last 30 years.
Dr. Ali is currently holding the position of Studies and Research Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court in Oman. Prior to his current position, Dr. Ali has contributed to the development of a number of strategic initiatives and programs in a number of Arab Gulf countries, including overseeing the government’s economic reform program, establishing and managing think tanks in social and economic fields, developing the national innovation promotion policy agenda, establishing the Government Programs and Projects Management Office (PMO), establishing a national competitiveness office, as well as designing and implementing several national leadership development programs.

During his career, Dr. Ali has worked with several institutions in the Sultanate and abroad. In the Sultanate, Dr. Ali has worked with the Ministry of Information and the College of Banking Studies. Outside the Sultanate, Dr. Ali has worked with international consulting firms such as Bozlan & Hamilton (USA) and PA Consulting (UK). He was also associated as a fellow, visiting professor and researcher with Sultan Qaboos University, Yale University, and Cranfield University in the UK.
