MUSCAT: The Muscat Stock Exchange started the trading of 2022 with a number of positive indicators, as the market value of the securities listed on the stock exchange rose by over OMR 22 billion by the end of last week.
“The main index of the stock exchange was able to add 58 points and closed at 4188 points, the financial sector index recorded the best rise, up 90 points and closed at 6668 points, and the services sector index witnessed an increase of 16 points, while the industrial sector index declined 52 points and the legitimate market index lost 7 points,” Oman News Agency said in the report.
“The Muscat Stock Exchange witnessed a slight increase in the number of executed deals, which rose to 2,051 deals, an increase of 3 deals from the previous week, with a trading value of OMR 12.4 million,” the report added.
