MUSCAT: Unemployment rate in Oman cooled down to 2.4% in September compared to 3.2% in August of 2021, according to the data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) shows.
The drop in unemployment rate comes after the government took several measures in creating job opportunities in public and private sector last month.
The rate of job seekers among females was 7.7%, while the percentage among men was 1.2% in September 2021.

The age group from 15 to 24 years recorded the highest rate at 16.8%, followed by 5.1% for the age group from 25 to 29 and 1.7% for the age group from 30 to 34.
In terms of job seekers by educational status, the highest rate was at 8.5% for people with a higher diploma.
