MUSCAT: The Omani Water and Wastewater Services Company (Diam) on Saturday issued a clarification regarding the quality of drinking water at the Khasab desalination plant.
In a statement issued, Diam said the specialised technical team took samples of the water produced from the plant, and the results of the water were in accordance with the standard specifications for drinking water. The clarification comes after a video clip was circulated on social media regarding the quality of water served in Khasab.
“Wilayat Khasab has relied on groundwater as a source of drinking water for more than four decades, and the desalination plant will support water sources in the state, thus enhancing the sustainability of water sources,” Diam said.
