MUSCAT: The Ministry of Religious and Endowment Affairs has granted permission to open mosques in Oman for Friday prayers, starting from September 24.
Starting from Sunday, September 19, mosques can submit an application to get permits to host Friday prayers through this link: https://www.mara.gov.om/arabic/jmah_form.aspx
According to the regulation issued by the Ministry, the mosque capacity will be capped at 50 per cent and safety protocols will be in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Only fully vaccinated worshippers will be allowed entry to the mosques. “A team of volunteers will verify if the worshippers have taken two doses of Covid-19 vaccine before entering the mosque,” the statement said.
