MUSCAT: More than 700,000 students started their new academic year as schools across Oman opened on Sunday.
Royal Oman Police deployed its team to control the traffic in front of most of the schools in the country.
According to the statistics provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE), 702,568 students from 1204 schools, including 1,191 basic educational institutions, 13 post-basic institutions and 22 new schools will reopen to start the new academic year 2021-2022.

“This year, the education sector will witness a new vision for educational supervision that aims to enhance the quality of schools in developing their performance,” the Minister said on Saturday.
