MUSCAT: Ministry of Education has refuted rumours about charging students to pay school bus fees.
In a statement issued, the Ministry said imposing school bus fees on students is not true. “The Ministry denies what is being circulated on social media about the imposing bus fees on students and the failure of the Ministry to pay the salaries of bus drivers. The Ministry stresses the importance of taking information from its official accounts,” a statement said.
Regarding the delay in distributing some textbooks to students, the Ministry had this to say: “It would like to clarify that it has provided all the textbooks, and most of them have been distributed. As for the books that were not distributed due to the delay in printing conditions, they are also available in electronic formats. The Ministry will prepare brochures for schools on the mechanism they will follow in teaching the first units or lessons of these books until they are available, without the guardian bearing any financial consequences,” the statement added.
