MUSCAT: The Supreme Committee gave the go-ahead for thousands of fans to attend Oman’s second game of the final 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifying round against Saudi Arabia to be played at the iconic Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Tuesday.
The committee allowed a crowd of up to 30%, of the stadium’s full capacity. This would make it the first match with audience on stands since the start of the pandemic.
In a statement issued, Oman Football Association (OFA) said the entry is permitted to fully vaccinated fans and they must present the vaccination certificate along with the ID card. Football fans can purchase tickets online through e-commerce app TM Done. “They (fans) can choose the exact location within the stadium sections. Tickets will be available through the TM Done app at 6 pm on Friday, September 3, 2021,” OFA said.

Oman stunned Asian football powerhouse Japan in the opening game of the final World Cup qualifying round on Thursday, winning 1-0. Red Warriors win came with Issam Al Sabhi’s late strike, just two minutes from time. He swept home Salah Al Yahyaei’s cross from the right to stun giants to take home all three points in the Group B meeting.
