MUSCAT: The Majlis Al Shura’s Economic and Financial Committee is studying a report to create investment opportunities in Oman for expatriates in the medium and high income category.
According to the report, the proposal aimed at encouraging the expatriates working in Oman to invest within the country so that it helps to develop the Omani economy and labour market. “The committee has decided to study the subject throughly in line with the size of the market,” the statement said. However, details of this proposal has not been revealed.
This proposal was among the several discussed during its 15th regular meeting on Monday.

The committee also discussed the proposal on the negative impact of reorienting electricity and water subsidies on citizens.
