MUSCAT:Oman embassy in Indonesia has warned citizens that overstaying can be a costly affair after the expiry of visas.
The embassy said via its Twitter account that the Indonesian government has increased charges for visitors overstaying from May 3.
It said, “Starting May 3, foreign nationals overstaying in Indonesia will be charged rupiah 1mn per day from rupiah 300,000 per day.”

In terms of Omani rial, a visitor will be charged OMR26.87 per day now instead of the earlier OMR8.06 once the visa expires.
The embassy has urged Omanis who want to visit Indonesia for more than 30 days to get visa-on-arrival at the airport.
