MUSCAT: With the Supreme Committee lifting the ban on commercial activities and movement of individuals and vehicles on May 15, businesses are back to normal in the country.
Shops across the country that was closed throughout the day in the last one week has now opened. “It feels really good to open the shop after the closure. I really hope we get good business,” said Sharaf Koya, a shop owner in Ruwi Highstreet.
According to the Supreme Committee decision, commercial complexes, shops, restaurants and cafes can allow 50 per cent customers until 8pm.

“All commercial activities can open, while they must stop the entry of customers after 8pm until 4am,” Muscat Municipality said in an interaction with the public on Saturday.
“We have been actually struggling to pay our rents, and staff salary because of the pandemic. Our business were really affected due to it. Now there is a slimmer of hope. We really hope cases don’t increase,” Sharaf said.
Starting from today, 50 per cent government employees will also return to offices, while the remaining staff will work remotely from home
