MUSCAT: Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has reported 65% drop in revenue last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Revealing the details in its annual report, CAA said due to several restrictions on travel due to Covid, the authority reported a significant drop in its revenue. “The revenues of the Authority in 2020 were affected by a decrease of 65% due to the exceptional circumstances that the world is going through due to the coronavirus pandemic which imposed restrictions on travel, which caused the suspension of air traffic and the closure of airports for a long period during the year 2020,” CAA said.
Meanwhile, Muscat airport also witnessed a decrease in passenger traffic by 75% in 2020 compared to 2019.
