MUSCAT: Starting from March 29, all passengers arriving in Oman must book their hotel for institutional quarantine via Sahala platform https://covid19.emushrif.om, the country’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Tuesday.

In a statement issued, CAA said all airlines are responsible for ensuring that “the passengers are holding a confirmed booking via the (Sahala) platform.”

The Sahala platform is run by the Relief and Shelter Sector of the Ministry of Social Development, in collaboration with other authorities.

Meanwhile, an advisory from eMushrif — an Omani company that oversees quarantine processes in the country said: “Before flying, passengers need to “complete traveller registration and hotel bookings through the Sahala platform, and print the completed traveller registration form (TRF).”

Passengers also need to download the Tarassud+ coronavirus monitoring app, and the HMushrif app, which helps track people under quarantine.

“Make sure you have the following: Your travel document (passport or Omani national ID/Oman residency card), and a debit card or a credit card for online payment. The hotel reservation charge is separate from the registration fee.  The registration portal allows you to register for yourself and your accompanying travellers (e.g. family members),” the advisory noted.

“Passengers must also keep a soft or hard copy of their payment and needs to be presented at the port of arrival (Oman airport,”the advisory added.
