Oman among first countries to issue special legislation against human trafficking

MUSCAT: Oman has launched a national campaign to combat human trafficking (NCCHT).

Titled ‘Insan’ the campaign will run till May 31, 2021. HE Nasr Khamis Al Sawai, Attorney General and Deputy Chairman of NCCHT affirmed the Sultanate’s role in global efforts to combat human trafficking. “Oman is one of the first countries to issue special legislation against this crime,” he noted.

In a pre-recorded speech, His Eminence Dr. Shaikh Kahlan bin Nabhan Al Kharusi, The Assistant Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, confirmed the clear position of Islam towards preserving human rights, regardless of colour, ethnicity and belief.
