MUSCAT: Travellers arriving in Oman from any country must undergo 7-days quarantine and cannot choose 14 days home isolation to avoid a PCR test, a senior Ministry of Health official informed The Arabian Stories.
Earlier, to avoid a PCR test on the eighth day, travellers opted to choose 14-day quarantine. “They (travellers) must undergo a 7-day mandatory quarantine and do a PCR test on the eighth day and if the test result is negative, the isolation period will end,” the official said.
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health has also confirmed the updated quarantine protocol. “After completing 14-days quarantine, there was no need of a PCR test and we may not know that person might be still a carrier of the virus, hence 7-days quarantine and an eighth day PCR testing is mandatory,” the Minister said during the Supreme Committee press conference last week.

Meanwhile, passengers arriving in the country are required to obtain a negative COVID-19 certificate at least 72-hours before their arrival. They must also undergo a PCR test at the airport and then go into a 7-day quarantine.
