MUSCAT: Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister thanked India for gifting 100,000 Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to the Sultanate.
“Heartfelt thanks to our close friends in India. We stand united against Covid-19 and this initiative is a testimony of the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our governments and peoples,” Sayyid Badr wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health also thanked India for the gesture.

Addressing the Supreme Committee press conference on Monday, Al Saidi said the Oxford vaccine is 90% effective and “its safety has been proven”. India on Saturday dispatched 100,000 doses of vaccine to Oman.
