MUSCAT: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health has once again thanked India for gifting 100,000 Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
Addressing the Supreme Committee press conference on Monday, Al Saidi said the Oxford vaccine is 90% effective and “its safety has been proven”. India on Saturday dispatched 100,000 doses of vaccine to Oman. The Minister also urged the public to stop spreading rumours about the safety of vaccines.
“Oxford vaccine is 90% effective and its safety has been proven, and it is produced from a well-known institute in India. We thank our friends in India for the gift,” he said.

Meanwhile, Al Saidi also informed that the third batch of Pfizer vaccine will arrive in the country this month. Oman’s total coronavirus cases has touched 134,524.
