MUSCAT: With the rise in coronavirus cases, the Supreme Committee has ordered the suspension of all local events and activities of a public nature including all types of sports and exhibitions, and all international conferences taking place in the Sultanate, starting on Thursday, January 28.
The committee also urged citizens and residents to avoid traveling outside the country.
The Supreme Committee also decided to postpone the opening of direct education at colleges and universities.

“The Supreme Committee in charge to deal with COVID-19 has decided to postpone the opening of direct education in universities and colleges, postponing the expansion of blended education in government schools, suspending all local and international conferences in the Sultanate, and suspending activities of a public nature, including sports activities,” the statement from the committee added.
