MUSCAT : Gulf Cooperation Council countries have launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of uncoated writing and printing paper originating in or exported from China, India and Thailand, Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion said.

The investigation covers products classified under customs codes 480255, 480256 and 480257, according to the ministry’s announcement.

The probe follows the acceptance of a complaint by the GCC’s permanent committee responsible for tackling harmful practices in international trade. Its initiation was published in official bulletin No. 59 issued by the GCC Technical Secretariat for Combating Harmful Practices in International Trade.

The ministry called on importers and other interested parties to contact the anti-dumping department at its Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Centre to register their interest in the investigation.

Parties must register within 40 days of the publication date of bulletin No. 59, the ministry said.

Registration enquiries can be sent to tsaip-Inv@gccsg.org or anti.dumping@tejarah.gov.om.
