MUSCAT: The global event will witness the participation of eight national teams that will be divided equally between the men’s and women’s categories.
The men’s category will feature the participation of four national teams, namely Oman’s national team (the host), the German team (World Champion), the Croatian team (winner of the Global Tour stage in Zagreb), and the Polish team (runner-up in the Global Tour stage in Płock).
In the women’s category, participating teams include the Argentine team (World Cup champion), the Portuguese team (winner of the Global Tour stage in Zagreb), the German team (winner of the Global Tour stage in Płock), and another team to be announced later. The hosting of this stage comes within the framework of the strong partnership between Oman Handball Association and the International Handball Federation, serving as an important preparatory milestone within the preparations program for the Sultanate of Oman’s hosting of the 2028 Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball World Championships in Dhofar Governorate.
During daily training sessions conducted on the sand court at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher, the technical staff is focusing on boosting players’ physical fitness levels, as it represents one of the most critical factors influencing beach handball performance, which demands high physical capabilities and substantial levels of endurance, speed, and concentration.
