MUSCAT : Oman Air and Adhwaa Al Ardh Al Satiaa have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at bringing 30,000 visitors from Indonesia to Salalah in 2027, supporting efforts to increase tourist arrivals throughout the year.
Under the agreement, Adhwaa Al Ardh Al Satiaa will purchase 30,000 seats on Oman Air services from Jakarta to Salalah via Muscat. Bookings will include tourism packages showcasing the natural attractions, culture, heritage and hospitality of Dhofar and other parts of Oman.
The companies said the partnership reflected growing demand from Southeast Asian markets and was intended to expand visitor arrivals beyond traditional peak travel periods.

“Through the comprehensive tourism packages developed under this agreement, we aim to make Oman more accessible than ever while delivering memorable experiences that encourage visitors to discover not only Salalah, but the wider Sultanate.”
Ahmed Ali Al Mahrouqi, vice president of global sales at Oman Air, said the agreement would help the airline develop a market with significant tourism potential.
“This agreement demonstrates the important role strategic partnerships play in opening Oman to new international markets and supporting the continued growth of our tourism sector,” he said.
“Indonesia represents a market of significant potential, and by working closely with Adhwaa Al Ardh Al Satiaa, we are creating new pathways for visitors to experience the extraordinary attractions of Salalah and Oman.”
Al Mahrouqi said such partnerships would help increase inbound tourism, support local businesses and advance efforts to position Oman as a year-round destination.
The initiative supports Oman Vision 2040 objectives by contributing to economic diversification and raising the country’s profile in international markets with growth potential, the companies said.
Oman Air said it was working with tourism industry stakeholders through improved connectivity and destination-focused partnerships to attract new travellers and promote experiences available across Oman throughout the year.
The airline, a member of the oneworld alliance, began operations in 1993, initially serving domestic routes before expanding internationally. Its fleet includes Boeing 737 aircraft and 787 Dreamliners.
Oman Air said its operations have supported Muscat’s development as a tourism destination, alongside commercial and industrial activity. The carrier also highlighted its onboard and ground services and Omani hospitality as features of its offering.
