The appointment follows Oman’s efforts to expand its participation in the sector. The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers approved the country’s accession to the International Society of Air Safety Investigators on Nov. 17, 2020, to support international cooperation and develop national expertise.
Founded in 2013, the Middle East and North Africa society promotes professional links among investigators, exchanges technical knowledge and organises specialist programmes and seminars on aircraft accident investigation and prevention.
It is a regional branch of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, established in the United States in 1964 to promote cooperation among specialists investigating aviation accidents and incidents and improve air safety practices.
