MUSCAT : Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has warned fishermen and sea users to exercise caution near Ras Al Sheikh Masoud in Musandam after a container ship sank, leaving floating containers, some carrying hazardous materials.
The ministry said the vessel, GFS PRIDE, sank on October 14, 2026, resulting in containers floating in the surrounding waters.
In a notice, it urged the public not to approach the containers or attempt to handle them.
