MUSCAT : The Oman Pavilion at CPhI Worldwide 2026, held in Milan, Italian Republic, witnessed the signing of four agreements in the pharmaceutical sector, in the presence of H.E. Eng. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, Vice Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) and Head of the Omani delegation participating in the exhibition. The signings reflect the Sultanate of Oman’s growing attractiveness for specialised investments in the pharmaceutical and medical industries, and reinforce its drive to develop integrated industrial clusters in this sector.
The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the Sultanate of Oman’s participation in the exhibition, represented by OPAZ in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, represented by Oman Exports; the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn); Sohar Freezone; Khazaen Economic City; and Salalah Free Zone, with the participation of a number of private sector companies and Sohar International Bank as Strategic Partner.



The first agreement provides for the establishment of a plant to produce oncology medicines at Raysut Industrial City in the Governorate of Dhofar, between Dhofar Pharmaceutical Industries and Hydrogen Oncology Pharmaceuticals of the Republic of Iraq. It represents a step towards localising the manufacture of oncology medicines in the Sultanate of Oman, developing production capabilities in specialised medicines, and strengthening the supply chains associated with this vital industry.

The second agreement is a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on pharmaceutical industrial cooperation and integration between Dhofar Pharmaceutical Industries and Felix Pharmaceutical Industries, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two parties and developing areas of industrial integration, thereby supporting the growth of the pharmaceutical industry and expanding the scope of partnerships and investments in the sector.
The third agreement is an MoU on the exchange of drug dossiers and the transfer of pharmaceutical technology between Sana Pharma of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and National Pharmaceutical Industries. It opens new horizons for cooperation in the development, registration and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, the exchange of expertise and technical know-how, and the utilisation of specialised technologies and expertise in the pharmaceutical industry.
The fourth agreement provides for the transfer of the manufacturing technology of an Omani medicine for modern diabetes treatments from the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. It reflects the advancing capabilities of Oman’s pharmaceutical industries and opens new horizons for exporting pharmaceutical products and technologies to regional and international markets.
The signing of these agreements embodies the practical impact of Oman’s participation in CPhI Worldwide and reflects the Sultanate of Oman’s ability to attract specialised pharmaceutical investments to its special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities, as well as the qualitative value these investments add to the pharmaceutical sector in the Sultanate of Oman.
The agreements complement the drive to establish specialised clusters for the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities, enhancing integration among companies operating in the sector, supporting the development of integrated local and regional value chains, and contributing to strengthening pharmaceutical security and diversifying the production base of the Sultanate of Oman.
The signing of these agreements also forms part of efforts to leverage specialised international platforms and exhibitions to showcase investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and connect Omani companies with global investors and companies, thereby contributing to attracting high-quality investments, transferring knowledge and technology, developing national capabilities and enhancing local value added.
