MUSCAT : The University of Technology and Applied Sciences signed three memoranda of understanding with Modern College of Business and Science, Arab Open University, and Al Buraimi University College at the University Presidency, as part of efforts to strengthen academic and research cooperation, exchange expertise and knowledge, and develop areas of partnership among higher education institutions.
The signing ceremonies were held successively, with the first memorandum signed with Modern College of Business and Science, followed by the second memorandum with Arab Open University, and the third memorandum with Al Buraimi University College.



The memoranda stem from the importance of developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest in the academic, educational and research fields, and benefiting from expertise and knowledge in ways that contribute to establishing a strong foundation for partnership, meeting shared aspirations, and supporting education and learning, scientific research, student exchange, knowledge dissemination and quality enhancement.

The areas of cooperation stipulated in the memoranda include encouraging academic staff and students to undertake joint research projects in various fields and participate in programmes proposed by either party. They also include organizing joint scientific and academic events, including forums, conferences, seminars, workshops, courses and training programmes.
The memoranda further provide for student exchange for specified periods in the fields of training, scientific research and short courses, as well as facilitating the mutual engagement of academic and administrative expertise. They also cover cooperation and exchange of expertise in developing the quality of academic programmes.
In addition, the memoranda encompass research and development and consultancy activities involving academic staff, cooperation in institutional and programme accreditation and quality assurance activities, as well as the exchange of periodicals, publications, books, references and educational resources in libraries. They also provide for the use of available academic facilities among the parties, subject to the available resources and applicable laws and regulations.
The signing of these partnerships enhances opportunities for cooperation in the academic and research fields and supports the exchange of expertise and experiences among educational institutions, contributing to the development of academic programmes and practices and supporting the quality of higher education outcomes.
