MUSCAT : Who will lift the ever-rolling trophy this year? That question will drive the competition when the second edition of the TAS Inter-School Badminton Tournament takes place on October 10 at Kosmos Academy in Al Wadi Al Kabir, bringing young players together for a day of sporting action.

Indian School Al Ghubra, winners of the inaugural edition, will enter as defending champions, while last year’s runners-up, Indian School Muscat, will be looking to go one step further. With the trophy up for grabs again, participating schools will have the opportunity to challenge the champions and make their mark.

Organised by The Arabian Stories in association with Morning Stars Badminton Club, the tournament is endorsed by the Oman Racket Sports Committee. It aims to give students a platform to showcase their talent, build confidence and represent their schools through competitive sport.

The inaugural edition brought together more than 120 players and featured nearly 150 matches, setting the stage for the tournament’s return. The second edition will build on that momentum, with school pride adding to the excitement on court.

Beyond the battle for the trophy, the tournament celebrates teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship, giving young players valuable experience in a competitive setting.

MOJ Perfume is the presenting sponsor, with Tang powering the tournament. Hyundai is the Automotive Partner, while Fan4ever and MESDAC Solutions are the Technology Partners.

Associate Partners include Ocean National Enterprise, Al Mudhish, MBE Yonex, Kosmos Sports, Tara Uniforms, BrandOne, Oasis Water, Cumin Catering and Modern Exchange.

With Indian School Al Ghubra seeking to retain the title and their challengers eager to take it away, October 10 promises a compelling contest for the ever-rolling trophy.

“Last year’s tournament showed how much talent and passion there is among our school players. This year, we want to build on that excitement and give students an even stronger platform to compete and shine. Indian School Al Ghubra have set the benchmark, but a new edition brings new opportunities. We look forward to seeing who rises to the challenge and lifts the ever-rolling trophy,” said Robin Sebastian, organiser of the TAS Inter-School Badminton Tournament.
