Oman’s oil exports rise 1.9% to 209 million barrels

The Sultanate of Oman’s total oil exports reached 209 million barrels by the end of August 2026, registering a growth of 1.9 percent compared to 205 million barrels during the same period in 2025.

MUSCAT: The latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that Oman’s oil production reached 270 million barrels by the end of August 2026, an increase of 11.9 percent compared to 241.4 million barrels during the same period in 2025.
According to the data, the average daily oil production increased by 10.9 percent by the end of August 2026, reaching 1.1 million barrels per day, compared to 993.3 thousand barrels per day during the same period last year.
On a monthly basis, oil production in August reached 36.3 million barrels, compared to 35.8 million barrels in July and 34.4 million barrels in June. Oil exports during August amounted to 27.1 million barrels, compared to 26.7 million barrels in July, and 25.7 million barrels in June.
The average price of Omani oil rose by 15.5 percent during the period from January to the end of August, reaching $83.3 per barrel, compared to $72.1 per barrel during the same period in 2025.
On a monthly basis, the average price of Omani oil in August was $79.1 per barrel, down 22.5 percent compared to July, which recorded an average price of $102 per barrel.
In the natural gas sector, total domestic production and imports increased by 6.4 percent year-on-year by the end of August 2026, reaching 40.5 billion cubic meters, compared to 38.1 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2025.
Gas consumption in power generation plants grew by 13.8 percent to reach 11.7 billion cubic meters, while consumption in industrial projects increased by 4.9 percent to reach 19.9 billion cubic meters.
Gas consumption in oil fields also increased by 1.5 percent to reach 8.7 billion cubic meters, while gas consumption in industrial areas decreased by 32.6 percent to reach 126.0 million cubic meters, compared to 186.9 million cubic meters at the end of August 2025.
