MUSCAT— Air India Express said on Tuesday it would increase flight frequencies on routes serving Muscat as part of an expanded winter schedule linking India with six countries across West Asia.
The airline included the Omani capital among destinations receiving additional services from its Indian hubs and focus cities. It did not specify the number of additional Muscat flights or identify the Indian cities involved.
Under the Winter 2026 schedule, which runs until March 27, 2027, Air India Express plans to operate up to 135 daily departures across its India–West Asia network, connecting 23 Indian cities with 12 regional gateways through 88 non-stop routes.

The network covers Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The daily departure figure applies to the wider regional network.
The airline said it was expanding frequencies from Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Kozhikode and Hyderabad to destinations including Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha, Kuwait City and several Saudi cities.
The expanded schedule is intended to improve travel options for passengers flying for work, family visits and leisure, the airline said, citing the large Indian communities living across West Asia.
Air India Express also plans to deploy aircraft with refurbished interiors on several West Asia routes during the winter season, although it did not identify whether these would include services to Oman.
The regional expansion forms part of what the Tata-owned airline described as its largest winter schedule, alongside additional capacity at its Bengaluru and Delhi hubs and new domestic routes in India.
