Muscat: The Ministry of Labour has outlined a three-stage field work mechanism aimed at strengthening compliance with the provisions of Oman’s Labour Law through establishment monitoring, inspection campaigns and follow-up on legal procedures.
The first stage focuses on establishment oversight, with ministry teams monitoring whether establishments are complying with and properly implementing the provisions of the Labour Law.
The second stage involves inspection campaigns, including field visits to establishments and markets to identify violations and ensure that labour regulations are being followed.

The third stage covers follow-up and deportation, under which the Ministry follows up on legal procedures against violators, including deportation cases in accordance with established procedures.
The Ministry’s Labour Law provides for penalties and administrative measures against violations, while also allowing authorities to take action in cases involving workers found to be in breach of applicable labour regulations.
The Ministry has also said that joint inspection teams form part of its efforts to address illegal employment practices involving non-Omani workers.
