MUSCAT: The figures were reviewed during the first meeting of the General Assembly of the Supreme Court held in preparation for the 2026/2027 judicial year, chaired by His Excellency Sayyid Khalifa bin Saeed Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Supreme Court.
The meeting was attended by the deputy presidents, judges and members of the Public Prosecution, and examined judicial performance indicators, statistics from the previous year and measures to further develop judicial and administrative work at the Supreme Court.
The assembly also discussed the formation of judicial circuits for the 2026/2027 judicial year and reviewed measures aimed at improving workflow and enhancing the efficiency of judicial proceedings.

At the meeting, His Excellency Al Busaidi commended the judicial and administrative achievements recorded during the previous year, particularly the 100 percent resolution rate achieved by some circuits in dealing with pending appeals.
He expressed hope that the new judicial year would deliver further progress in achieving prompt justice and strengthening the rule of law.
